The Courage to Be Imperfect
You know that feeling when you're scrolling through Instagram and everyone seems to have their life perfectly organized, their children perfectly behaved, and their spiritual journey perfectly aligned? Meanwhile, you're just proud you remembered to brush your teeth this morning.
There's something exhausting about the pressure to have it all together. The unspoken expectation that you should never struggle, doubt, or drop any of the balls you're juggling. Here's a liberating truth: you weren't designed for perfection. You were created for authenticity.
Think about the people in Scripture. David—a man after God's own heart—was also deeply flawed. Peter, called the rock, denied Jesus three times. These weren't footnotes to their stories; they were central chapters that God used for transformation.
Your imperfections aren't obstacles to God's work in your life. They're often the very spaces where grace shines brightest. What might change if you embraced your humanity rather than fighting it? If you allowed yourself to say "I don't know" or "I need help" without feeling like a failure?
True courage isn't found in maintaining a flawless facade. It's found in the vulnerability of admitting your limitations, asking for support, and showing up authentically day after day.
Your cracks and flaws aren't signs of weakness—they're openings that let light in and out. They're evidence that you're human, not superhuman. And there's something beautifully brave about that.
So breathe easier today. You don't have to be perfect. You just have to be present, honest, and willing to grow. That's more than enough.
